Smart Irrigation and Digital Agriculture: New Directions for Intelligent Filtration Equipment

Smart irrigation systems achieve precision irrigation through sensors, controllers and IoT technology, and intelligent filtration equipment with pressure difference sensing, automatic backwashing and remote monitoring capabilities has become a new development trend.

With the development of digital agriculture and smart irrigation, irrigation systems are gradually realizing data-based and automated management. As the key equipment at the head of the system, filtration devices are also undergoing an upgrade process from manual to automatic, and from automatic to intelligent. Traditional filters require manual regular cleaning of filter elements, which is not only time-consuming and labor-intensive, but also prone to reduced filtration accuracy due to untimely cleaning. The intelligent filtration system monitors the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet of the filter in real time through a pressure difference sensor, and automatically starts the backwashing program when the pressure difference reaches the set value without manual intervention; in combination with the controller and IoT platform, it can also realize remote monitoring, fault alarm and data recording, allowing management personnel to grasp the system operation status via mobile phones. In large-scale planting bases and high-standard farmland projects, the intelligent filtration system links with intelligent fertilizer applicators and intelligent valves to realize full-process automation from water source treatment to field irrigation. It is foreseeable that intelligent filtration equipment with automatic backwashing, remote control and data-based management will become the mainstream configuration for irrigation head systems in the future, and also an important direction for the upgrading of water-saving irrigation equipment.
